Kelso Cochrane at 100
Kelso Cochrane came to Britain from Antigua in the 1950s. He worked as a carpenter and hoped to study law. In 1959 he was murdered in a racist attack in North Kensington, and his death became a turning point in the fight for racial justice in Britain.
On what would have been his 100th birthday, the Kelso Cochrane Legacy Project and the North Kensington Social Justice Archive unveiled the restored mosaic made in his memory. In February, ABNA members remembered Kelso at our OGM, with a talk from the author Mark Olden.
